History

AERO&SPACE USA is currently active in performing aircraft satellite navigation/landing system GAA certification projects. Our current work includes aircraft level functional hazard assessment (FHA), numerical Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) using CAFTA+ and RTCA/DO-178B software certification guidance, development and test for both aircraft and ground segments.

AERO&SPACE USA's safety assessment methodology has been found to be compliant with ARP 4754 and ARP4761. These standards have recently been incorporated as acceptable technical means into the design and analysis advisory updates (AC 23-1309a and AC 25-1309-1B).

AERO&SPACE USA assists applicants to produce the necessary type design and data to obtain aircraft PMA (Part Manufacturing and Approval), Type Certificate (TC)/Supplemental Type Certificate (STCs) and Technical Standard Order (TSO) equipment approvals from the FAA. We have on our staff electronics safety FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) for system, equipment and software qualified to approve up to Level A for catastrophic aircraft failure condition classification.

Our recent experience includes almost five (5) years of technical safety assessment and software certification support for the FAA GPS/WAAS acquisition program under contract to Thompson Airsys ATM (formerly Wilcox) and then to Raytheon Systems Co. (formerly Hughes Aircraft). AERO&SPACE USA is currently the lead safety and RTCA/DO-178B software certification support contractor to Lockheed Martin Corp. for the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau GPS/MSAS Certification project.
